Zorpas Bakery started operating in the village of Athienou, in the province of Larnaca in 1975, as a small family bakery. In the courtyard of the family's house, the traditional Athenian breads were prepared and baked in a traditional oven. In 1979 and since the small bakery has already grown to be able to meet the needs of demand, the company was incorporated as a limited liability company with the main business of producing and selling bakery items. In 1988, the first Zorpas Bakery opened its doors in Nicosia and in the decade that followed, Fournoi Zorpas expanded throughout Cyprus.
