Description

Kolossi Castle is a former Crusader stronghold on the south-west edge of Kolossi village 14 kilometres west of the city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus. The castle is also famous  for its production of a sweet dessert wine called Commandaria, which is considered to be one of the world’s oldest manufactured wines. Wander the grounds and you’ll find evidence of ancient wine production with equipment such as remains of a millstone and aqueduct system.
